Painter of drought and myth
In the first works of Jan Husarik, the colour red was not just a colour; it was drought, thirst, and internal battle. Fields that burn, a scorching sun, and a heart that yearns – all of this was drawn on to the paintings. As the years passed, his work became much calmer, but with every stroke, he stayed deeply personal. Nevertheless, Husarik was not just a painter – he was an explorer. He imagined the battle of Troy in Banat; he had placed the myths into reality, and his paintings were used as a bridge between the past and the present. He joined together history and legend. Bringing to life pictures that spoke about reality that we cannot touch but we can only feel.
